My Family and I....
Welcome to our boutique. It warms my heart that you've stopped to come see what we offer. This page is dedicated to me and my family, so you can get to know us better.
My name is Amanda Conner. I am married to the love of my life Rick Conner. We have 3 sons. During what my husbands calls a mid-life mini crisis, I went to him about a 4th child. Keep in mind our 3 sons were at the ages they were all in middle/high school and doing their thing. After talking a bit more, we chose another baby was not in plan for us. With my love for small business and the want for years to have my own, NovaBrooks was born. The name you wonder, yep Nova was my girl name and Brooks would have been our 4th son's name. It started as a joke with one of my best friends and when she said I like it...it stuck. NovaBrooks Boutique.
I have been a nurse for many years, (22 when writing this) it is not my dream job. When people hear me say that, I usually get an odd look. Because nurses are supposed to be loving and caring and saints, never once hate their job, well that is not always the case. Now nursing was never a job I saw myself doing, many years ago I completed a 9 month program for so many other reasons boring details you don't care to hear, but I did land my "dream" position of that job and worked there for 10 years. Then after a few years off with my sons, I returned to what I'd say is a close 2nd. I am a peds nurse, prior to that I was a mother baby nurse. I knew right away the beginning of life was the job for me as a nurse. When looking at what I might want to do with my own business I knew right away it would involve children. What was my dream job you wonder? Well in high school I volunteered to help in the special education department at my school. It only took a few days for me to know that is where my passion was and I wanted to become a special needs teacher. God had different plans for me. Either way I am still working with children everyday at my day job and with our family owned small business.
My husband Rick, he is a small business owner as well. He does large truck collision work. It wasn't his first pick of a job either but I do think its his dream. The amount of hours and care he puts into his work; blows my mind. The trucks look better when they leave his shop then they did on day one from the factory.
