The question of the week when you return back to work from a few days off after Christmas and the new year.
What was your favorite Christmas gift? Did Santa come to see you, what did he bring? When they answer their eyes light up and the smile comes on, oh the magic of Christmas with children....their answers: "a YoYo" "I got a new kitchen" a custom made bag for vacation with princesses and my name on it in Pink, and Purple...yes she was very excited.
When the boys were younger I remember the days of I want X, on monday then come thursday it changed over to XY, then the next week they had a new item in mind that was nothing like the first two, you often wonder if they'd even remember what they asked for when Christmas actually came. Now as they are getting older, my husband and I feel quality out weighs quanity and if they are asking for a larger gift but told to save their own money, we have no problem contributing towards that.
When I hear things like "a YoYo" it reminds me how simple kids see life, they don't need hundreds of things under the tree when one tiny YoYo (which I didn't even think was cool anymore, shows you how much I know LOL) makes their Christmas. We as adults have to get in our own heads and complicate everything. Kids are really looking for and needing the magic the memories of Christmas rather than the stuff that clutters life. Thank you tiny for reminding me we have all we need with the people around us, loving our special gift as large as a kitchen or as small as a YoYo, becuase the gift is really the tiny getting it, the memory of the moment.
Enjoy your goodies kidos, we hope you all have had the best Christmas ever, now bring on spring....because we live in Illinois and there is nothing fun about Jan, Feb, and March in the winter LOL.
